My Thoughts

I knew this is where this series was headed from the beginning. But I still wasn’t prepared.

Through working cases, dealing with personal matters, and an impromptu Secret Santa event put on by the Toronto Metropolitan Police Department, Quaid is stressing himself sick (literally) trying to plan the perfect wedding. And right by his side, as always, is Aslan.

Quaid and Aslan have come very, very far in this series. Through intense ups and downs, near-death situations, life and death situations, general family drama, and cases that literally tore at their souls, they’ve always managed to stick close to each other, by each other, and support each other.

Quaid and Aslan are an incredibly balanced pair of opposites. And I love them both all the more for it. Because they work. They just work. And I love that.

This series was very intense, and very hard to read at times. But at every turn, it was absolutely perfect. I fell for these characters hard, and was invested in their growth, their relationship, and their cases. And with the promise of a spin-off series, I look forward to seeing them again – in whatever capacity that may be – in the future.
